I started watching anime when I was pretty young. I Skip Beat, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Bakugan, and that one anime with the green alien frog—oh yeah, Sgt. Frog (Keroro Gunsou)! One day, I watched Death Note and then Another. Honestly, I had no clue what was happening because I didn’t understand a single word of English back then. Looking back, anime actually helped me learn English. I used to sneak my older brother’s phone to watch anime on those illegal websites 😭. I even watched all of Naruto in Serbian dub, which, surprisingly, I still prefer over the English dub. Serbian voice actors really nailed it—ah, the nostalgia! As I got older, I watched even more anime. 2019–2020 was my peak—quarantine had me binging 12 episodes a day (so unhealthy, don’t do it, guys). My first time visiting an anime store was in , where I bought Moriarty the Patriot—my first-ever physical manga. It was like 10€, and I was so happy. Over time, my taste in anime changed a lot. I used to be into gore-heavy stuff like Devilman Crybaby (solid 9/10, though I didn’t like the ending :")). But now, I can’t handle excessive violence, nudity, or horror. As a Muslim, I naturally started avoiding those kinds of shows. So, no more dark mystery anime for me—just chill romance, comedy, and action. I won’t go too deep, but yeah, I’m always looking for new anime that match my vibe and make me laugh.
