If you hope for proper romance, there's a lightweight thread of that on the sidelines (with a bit of harem added for bad measure), action / combat - only small amount. There is a proper drama of the characters involved, but it's not the main focus. Also, the show is an isekai albeit it never outright its it. Think typical isekai protagonist keeping their earthly origin secret - here, it's being kept secret from the audience too, but you see the hints.
The art and animation is 10/10, absolute masterpiece. The artistic choices in writing are somewhat weird (nobody has names, they are always referred to by role/job) but you can get used to them. It has a little fanservice which feels quite out of place, also the harem thread was totally unnecessary (I'd much rather see the main pair's romance better developed), but they are minor bits that aren't enough to spoil the whole. And the political layer of the story is a delight - the depth, the intrigue, the way problems are overcome by intelligence and strength of character, not violence - this makes for something unforgettable.
