Fantasy Battle Action Manga 'Karakuri Circus' Gets TV Anime 422w3f

Karakuri Circus (Le Cirque de Karakuri) will receive a TV anime adaptation. Entertainment school Human Academy will also hold an audition for the main character, Masaru Saiga. More information will be announced in future issues of the magazine.

Synopsis
The protagonist, Masaru, has just inherited a big fortune after the death of his father. However, people are trying to get their hands on it by any means necessary, even if it means killing him. Narumi helps Masaru from being kidnapped after fighting strange figures. He finds out that they're not humans, but wooden puppets with amazing strength. After a hard fight, Narumi is forced to it that he's no opponent for them; and just when he starts to think that Masaru will be captured, Shirogane, Masaru's watcher arrives from with a weapon, the puppet Arlequin. Here begins the story of Karakuri Circus. (Source: Baka-Updates Manga, edited)

Ushio to Tora. The series was published in Shounen Sunday between 1997 and 2006 and originally compiled into 43 volumes. Shogakukan later reprinted the series in 23 wide edition volumes between 2011 and 2013. According to Shogakukan, Karakuri Circus has sold a cumulative 15 million copies of its compiled volumes.

A 30-second animated promotional video was created for the manga in 1998. Characters from the series also appeared in a 1999 omnibus animated commercial commemorating the 40th anniversary of Shounen Sunday.

Ohhh. Not what i expected but interesting.

Although Twin Engine and its subsidiaries, Geno Studio and Revoroot are of my interest [I see a lot of potential in this group], it was not the [studio] I had thought of either. I had thought about the MAPPA studio. There is a great acquisition of good works by good studios. MAPPA has already taken some very important works, both for the program Noitamina [which usually invests in adapting iconic manga], and of manga praised to adapt in traditional TV animation.

Although the adaptation of this series is not necessarily for the Noitamina, nevertheless it is still an interesting adaptation, being the manga of a highly praised author.

I just meant adapted into anime. Not mangas.

Nice, although I wonder how much they will adapt. There's so many chapters and they would need more than 3-cour to get across a good chunk of the story.

Hopefully it retains the style of the manga art too.

amazingg....!! never thought the day this manga would get an anime is coming..
i bought this manga since it released in my country, this manga has 30 volumes so far,and im excited every time the new volume come out..
the story is just amazing,and the art as well..
i hope the anime is amazing as well..

I don't know anything about this series, but considering the number of chapters, a more lengthy adaptation this time around would be nice. Ushio to Tora was good, but it needed to be at least another cour longer than it ended up being. The thing is, is that MAPPA actually wanted to animate all of it, but the mangaka decided otherwise. I don't even think they animated half of the manga, and Ushio to Tora is over 100 chapters shorter than this. I guess we'll just have to see whether or not the same thing happens here.

Not necessarily. The author's previous work (Ushio to Tora) which was 313 chapters long got adapted into 39 episodes and was good. Maybe they'll do the same with this one too.

Yeah but, from what ive heard, compared to Ushio to Tora they cant cut too much stuff on this one while Ushio had random filler chapters they could just skip.
