Mixed Feelings
Preliminary (4/12 eps)
When the 1st season was first released, I was instantly captivated with the gimmick and plot. The production was good, the animation was good, and it was basically a seasonal hidden gem. This also pulled me towards its manga in which I was very impressed with the artstyle and how it was led, while also appreciating the chaotic sequences and somehow edgy narrative of how the story unfolded.

Now when I watched this 2nd season, it felt like a downgrade on production. The audio was weird since some voicelines were inaudible or way too quiet, the music choices didn't match the vibe of how this arc progressed, and animation sort of felt robotic compared to the 1st season's more decent production (or maybe it's just me). It also doesn't help how this arc of the series wasn't that entertaining since it was also a long-dragged exposition in the manga, so I would also expect this anime's season to be dragged out as well.

To sum it up, I rated this a "5" (while the 1st season and manga "8") since the production work felt very downgraded while the sound design was off (first time I've experienced when watching an anime). It also doesn't help that the second season's plot coverage (assuming since I read this already) would be dragged out and it would be a pain to watch through all of that with the faulty/unhype production.

If you really have nothing to watch, this is still a good watch but do expect the mediocre production if you're sensitive with those kinds of details. The plot has a long exposition, but I promise you that the series has its quirks if it was animated better.
