If Azumanga Daioh was a long-time favorite of yours and you'd like to see what slice of life comedy has become, watch Asobi Asobase. While Asobi Asobase is a bit more bonkers at times and definitely more crass than Azumanga Daioh, both share a similar feel in comedic timing. The girls in Asobi Asobase are also much more often simply horrible people compared to the generally "good girls" of Azumanga Daioh.
We all want to laugh to dodge depression and lonelyness, Asobi asobase is the best way to avoid those shit and so does Azumanga Daioh. The anime gives you happiness and they both makes us forgets problems by laughs.
Both absurd humor, CGDCT, have great characters, and will always give you a great laugh. Azumanga starts a bit slower but ramps up quickly.
both are braindead gag anime focusing on the lives of schoolgirls.
