Very different styles and types of humour, yet similar in their simplicity, non-sequitors, and nonsensical randomness. They use both slapstick and wit at times and are genuinely funny. While Azumanga has nearly an all female cast, Cromartie is all male.
Both are hilarious random comedy animes, Cromartie is just the masculine side of Azumanga Daioh
They use both totally randomness and are extremly funny. They use both Slapstick and in Azumanga the main characters are all female, in Cromartie they are all male. They both have strange Characters like in Azumanga Chiyo's Dad and in Cromartie Mechazawa! :D
Cromartie high school is about as wacky (if not more) as Azumanga Daioh yet with a mostly male cast instead of a mostly female cast. Both are great animes and norio wakamoto, the voice actor for Chiyo's Dad, is also the voice actor for Shinichi Mechazawa in Cromartie.
