Bloodshed, gore, can shock an average viewer, and both of them pretend to be something they are not - EL does it way better though, since many people think it's actually deep, while DW's stupidity is obvious to most.
Both depict cruelty extremely well. Both have lovely characters which have a dark, violent and cruel side.
Both animes are very bloody and stories are similar with a sense of saving in both animes. Also they both can become very emotional. I recommend Dean Wonderlan to any one who likes Elfen Lied.
This series do have differences but once you take a deeper look, you just can't ignore the similarities... 1) Flying, bloody body parts everywhere 2) A girl with split personality 3) Main characters who lost his family/friends by the hands of someone he knows 4) They even both have eye violation scene!
These animes are both emotionally deep. Both animes involve a powerful female character with split personalities (Shiro/Wretched Egg and Lucy), who are attached to the male lead. Both are fastpaced and 12 episodes long. If you can handle the gore of Elfen Lied, you can handle Dean Wonderland a bit easier.
Both have the same feeling and both are very gory. Many plot twists that will make you scared for what's to come
Equally bad for the same reasons, if you liked one you'll probably like the other.
A lot of blood, flashbacks, supernatural skills, similar female protagonists
Elfen Lied is the most violent show I've seen in anime. Dean Wonderland, while not nearly as graphic, is still pretty gory. Other than gore, these 2 shows also share another similar trait. Both girls in the 2 animes have another dark personality.
They're both awful, trying to be deep with gore and nudity, and a complete waste of time.
both animes are sick and twisted in their own ways. They are dark and have some insanity that comes with it. It's violent, bloody and has gore obviously. Both very interesting though they have different settings and stories, if you're into this type of dark genre, then this is without a doubt for you. so check it out, you won't regret it.
Both these anime are obviously similar in many ways but are different in of execution. Elfen Lied focused more on drama and horror whilst Dean Wonderland was more about action horror and the fight for freedom. Both also share the same way of infecting the victims with powers but in Dean Wonderland it is not gender specific and the carriers or experiments are all held in a secret facility to be for experimental research that eventually drives said experiments to madness. Elfen Lied was uncensored while Dean Wonderland was (Might just be the version I watched though). Both anime endings suffer from not read more
Both have gore and a female character with a mysterious background. In both the main female character falls for the male protagonist.
I like both of them. In both the main character has a suprnatural ability. In Elfen Lied the main character, Lucy, a Diclonius, have a double personality. One is a ruthless killer and the other is a cute girl which can say only one thing "Nyuu". How about Dean Wonderland, there the main character, Ganta, is the only survivor when his all classmates were killed by a misterious man in a red costume. Bothe of this anime are interesting. They have mystery and horror. I think you will like them.
The idea of the female protagonist with double personalities is all.
The split personality female lead with extreme superhuman powers is very similar. Both anime also have a dark undercurrent to them and general feel.
Both have characters which can cause a hell of a lot of damage to others in close proximity, one using blood another special hands. they start of with a brutal demonstration of what having the power can lead to, both in dark ways. they have twisted scientist who experiment with these powers and both have female main characters with similar personalities.
Both have a girl who seems innocent and happy but really has a split personality that is dark and cruel. Both have male leads that have a forgotten past with these girls. Both girls have secret powers, and both girls have killed people the male lead loved.
Both are very dark anime with disturbing but gripping storylines. Crazy violence perpetuated through supernatural powers. The main character befriends the evil (bad/ dangerous) character in both anime because in both cases, the evil character has a split personality (one evil and one innocent). This creates a great mix of emotions due to your desire to dislike the evil character but also your desire to like or feel sorry for their innocent other side. Both where short lived anime but well worth a watch.
it is a horror anime full of blood and misterious characters and plot twists.give it a try!
Both have a character we don't know its true identity and both includes lots of blood. Although Elfen Lied is more adult anime and have a romance, the both couples have more related than we think.
Both have a dark theme, and a small love fling. Also they both deal with human experimentation.
the thing they have in common is the violence but dean wonderland has a much stronger storyline.
The setting is almost the same. The humans who has powers are being experimented on a secret lab. Both are bloody and dark story. The female MC has a dual personality and a killer.
Both series contain a girl with "two personalities": they can seem cute, but they are actually violent, dark and have superpowers.
Dual personality. Shiro and Lucy both have dual personalities within them, though the stories are similar too in that they are both captives of some kind who try to live in the harsh world around them. Dean Wonderland's Shiro living in prison. Elfen Lied's Lucy living in with Kouta. Both are good horror anime filled with gore and violence
They are very similar animes in development, but Elfen Lied seems to me to be much better worked. Despite this, they are very different stories.
Both are gore like hell but dean wonderland is a bit suitable for teens hmmm
These two anime are very similar in plot, style, and presentation. You have gratuitous violence, superpowered kids subject to all sorts of torture, evil organization capturing these kids, overly maniacal and stupid villains, and lots of death. It's an unbelievably fucked up world, filled with fucked up children raised by fucked up parents. The main girl in both is superpowered but mentally handicapped. The main difference is that Dean Wonderland, the main boy is also superpowered.
