Watched now 2 seasons and I absolutely loved it! Second season being even better then the first one!
You can clearly see that this is a show made with love from the studio and everyone behind it!
The characters are great, the art is very good and the story is well rounded!

There is once again some killing of humans, but this after Jin-Woo gets attacked first.
And now added that some will get turned into shadows which is actually a interesting twist.

I won't say too much as that would spoil way too much and I do strongly recommend to watch this anime on your own.
It's absolutely worth your ... time!


I really do hope a season 3 will come!
And if it does, then it will likely contain the character that plays Jin-Woo's father, at least someone claiming to be his father.
Also a likely battle with 2 characters that appear at the very ending, which are likely the puppet masters of the monsters and gates and why they appear. I really hope to see season 3 quickly!

This anime is clearly directed at men, although with it being so dull and simplistic you might even think it's directed at the most dumb people in the world according to this anime. There is no real innovative things about this anime, the jokes are pretty much very much 'to be expected' and copy/paste. This while the story has also a lot of repetitiveness about it by re-using the same jokes over and over with little variation. Also the male directed anime idea goes down the toilet if you notice how often things get disrupted or black screened. Which is clearly not how things should ... be and it makes things just worse.

The characters are mainly copy/paste types, specially if you notice that each has not just their monster type but also other bs attached while not being fully working properly. Moka being not just a vampire, but depending whether she has her necklace in tact or not she can be either a shy girl that jumps his neck all the time or a badass that kicks pretty much any opponent's ass. Yes, I said opponent and not enemy as none are really enemies and after a very simplistic battle they suddenly turn good. So I don't think that would as enemy or even baddie.

Tsukune is the typical male part that has a metal plate in front of his head, seems to be oblivious to the dangers and keeps falling for the same type of tricks. All while having no clue about women in a huge scale. Also why he keeps complaining about not having the power to protect the girls, yet being all too happy to go head first into danger all the time so the girls are forced to save his behind.

Now not to spoil the moment for those that haven't seen this anime, but you see more of these very common bs things that anime seem to overflow with. No real innovative new characters, all are basically gag characters at the same time depending the situation the studio throws them in. And non are really redeemable even in the long term as none of them seem to grow over time as that's completely destroyed by the fact that they start out as opponents and then suddenly are perfectly good and run of the mill harem characters.

This makes the anime rather disappointing as there is no substance to really go on. Every time the story takes a episode to a interesting spot (and this is rare) it gets destroyed by copy/paste nonsense and way too common jokes that you can guess way ahead of time. It's even more disappointing that the studio/publisher/writer(s) think they make this for very low IQ individuals which is adding insult to injury. If the story would have been taken more seriously you might actually have a decent anime that could easily get a 7 or 8 as the general idea of a human ending up in a monster school (which technically has been done several times already as well) isn't a bad idea. It just was completely ruined by copy/paste nonsense and the humor being way too obvious so you don't really get the pleasure in the joke.

This anime is well written, however I did notice there was a lot of hints to Dragon Ball. Ten for example is a very clear Goku clone, yet a lot dumber somehow. Emero seems to have Vegeta traits and Charlot is in a sense comparable with Whis to some extend. Is it bad? Not specifically, but not too good either. Specially with Ten's very clear Goku copy it's very clear that it gets in the way of the story at specific points, specially the stand still and get angry parts which are added quite a lot (similar to Goku going SSJ for the first time). ...

Now for other characters, Lookie-Loo seems to be no more then a useless character (so far at least) and if there is a second season ever being released it might be wise to make this character more usable instead of a simple Puar clone that is even less capable. Leii seems to have Gohan traits to some extend, but he also is fairly useless getting stuck in the past with something that happened to him as a child. Something pretty much any kid would run away from, yet he seems to seriously keep it close instead of figuring a way out of that much sooner. Which could have made him a lot more usable in earlier episodes.

Chica is one of those healers that hardly heals and is rather useless as well while Archemight be more usable but is rather selfish upto a specific point. Anzar on the other hand goes down the wrong route and loses himself only to get pulled back into reality by Ten and the others. Just after he nearly messed things up completely which is obviously another anime trope that is rather silly to keep repeating.

The baddies are mostly clear cut simple enemies which are rather more obnoxious and selfish then doing anything decent or having a good grip on what really is going on. Glaza being a clear Studio Ghibli type character in graphics and behavior.

Is the story fun?
Well, you need to get into it and yes that means you need to follow it all before you start to understand things more. Yet there are plenty of problems that need to be resolved. For example it would have been a good idea to get Nares back into the end as she is a character that is actually positive for the story. Also in the end there seems to be 1 continent missing as well. Aside from that, it's a typical 'rush the ending' type ending of the last episode. Something that is actually not working for this anime.
Yet the story is still fun to watch and I do think it's watchable.

Is it worth a low rating? NO, I do think it would be better to give it a 7 instead of a 5.66 (at the time of my review).
Yes it has flaws and might not be for everyone, but I do think it's a must watch type of anime regardless.

The story idea is quite interesting, dark yet a good story.
A lot of 'reviews' are stopping at 3-5 episodes, which is a clear waste.
It will be foolish to stop at just 3-5 episodes as this actually is a much better story then people claim.

The story is about a man that gets killed by his crew, other heroes.
Then manages somehow to get in a new body and trying to get his revenge by killing those that betrayed him.
This leading to a story that follows him on his path to doing this. There is no training really, but just starting at the point where he starts ... his revenge under the new name 'Köinzell'.

The graphics look dark and gritty which adds to the whole vibe around this anime, which is really adding to it. Almost back to the 80's in a way. While there are no top notch things about it, it sure does the job just fine.

I do recommend this anime, specially if you wish to see something different from the regular copy/paste work.
Yes it's dark and a isekai, but this one is well worth the time!

I had a lot of trouble with the streaming services, so I was rather frustrated with that. Buffering and just hanging itself completely while everything else works just fine. So something really needs to be done regarding that. I would be all for a global official service that would handle anime for everyone, not just America or Japan, which is on itself rather racist as it would exclude most other countries. But that's not a problem for this anime nor will I judge on this anime or any other for that reason. It's just bloody annoying to say the least.

This anime has a pretty ... interesting concept, which has been used in a few other isekai's before. Yet this time using machines that shouldn't be in that world at all. Yet it does give a interesting idea. I do wonder why in the last episode they use a mobile crane instead of a tank, that could have been finished in a single shot. But oh well, there are plenty of scenes where Kenichi fights with a machine instead of actual weapons. Nor does he really learn how to use weapons even if he had plenty of time and knowledge of "hey, I keep getting into trouble so I might need to learn how to fight even if's just the basics". A common problem in anime just to add plot that would make no sense. It does however lead to a interesting storyline that adds some cringe humor.

The characters are mostly over sexed which includes the little Anemone who seems to already think about having kids with Kenichi even if she's only 10, which would be 'kiddie stuff' clearly. However Kenichi does make it clear that she needs to wait 5 more years, yet even then she will only be 15 and still under aged. There are adult characters that do get their bedroom fun luck which is no wonder as Kenichi seems to think with the wrong head most of the time. Now I don't really see it as being wrong or bad, we usually get male characters that seem to have a huge plate of steel in front of their heads and are oblivious to any advances even if ladies would stand completely naked in front of them. So even if Kenichi's over sexed mind and extremely weak resistance towards sex is a thing, I do think it has a place. I'm however not sure if it's implemented correctly as Kenichi seems to sleep around rather often and without much pause.

Worth it? Well it's a good enough anime to check out and I do hope a second season appears.

Well worth to see this anime!
The story is progressing pretty smoothly even though there is that fact that Kazuhiro is clearly oblivious to Mariabelle's feeling, which is a common thing in anime for as long as anime is a thing. Yet the story is wholesome with some nicely placed humor. I there for fully enjoyed the story.

The characters are over all pretty well written, unless you talk about Sven and his companion who are clearly gag characters to some degree just to have a human enemy that in the end are a non-issue. Sven and his companion are rather poorly written (basic gag enemies) which ... takes away from the story, but are likely to return in a second season if that will be a thing.
Both main characters are well written and Kazuhiro teaches Mariabella pretty well when she arrives in the real world. This while also handling his real life job he's actually doing quite well balancing this. I do have to say that it's a plothole that he doesn't really get any sleep at all as when he sleeps he wakes up in the other world and visa versa leaving little to no room for sleep. This makes me wonder on how it's possible that he can even function without going crazy from hardly any sleep if not die. Which is extended to Mariabella and Wridra as well.

I'd love to see a second season, Zero-G studio really did a amazing job with this one!

The idea of putting a anime artist into the role of a hero is refreshing although not new. Yet this anime does show a good story even if it's a bit cheesy at times and tiresome for specific moments. Of course the story that she knows about isn't told to anyone until it's kinda too late causing it all to seriously end badly and only by a last ditch effort it suddenly gets 'fixed'. Yet the bird doesn't get deleted from the whole thing making the ending rather unfinished just like the story that Natsuko needs to 'fix'. Also the ending when she gets back ... in the real world seems to be getting rather ending in a cliffhanger which seems to give a bad after taste as it is again not a finished thing. So over all, this anime is a 'let's make something that we don't finish properly' type of anime.

Graphics are great if she's in the 'real world', but in the isekai world it's more basic for some reason. Not sure what to make of this, but I do think the 'real world' animations style would have been better to be used throughout the entire show.

Worth it? Leave it?
Well it's for sure worth to try it out, but with the plot holes and the overload of open endings it's a bit frustrating.

Where even to begin with this one, these is so much to talk about and for sure it's not all good.
Now my words are not about the voice actors, all of which did a amazing job for sure. It's about the characters on their own and how they are written.

Now let's take Akane, a girl that can't be honest with herself or towards anyone else even upto the last moment she rather lies then be honest. This making you as viewer cheer on Himari a lot more as she does clearly state that she likes Saito a lot and doesn't lie or try to beat ... around the bush. Or for that matter try to Akane is everything what a modern day woman is in how illogical she acts and speaks about Saito. Yes she knows she loves him, but keeps talking bad about him and keeps pushing him away due to pressure from the other girls and the class. Everything to lie and push him away, while finding it strange that he draws further and further away from her. Akane is the definition of a stupid girl that has no common sense. With how she behaves she made me dislike her a lot to the level that I'd slap her if I were Saito.

Then we have her sister Maho that comes at Saito with insane strength trying to win him over out of hate while it turns to love later on. Can't stop doing her thing while Akane, her sister, let's Maho walk all over her and not telling Maho off. Maho also being a gag character just to add some cheap jokes that don't really hit in the right spots or at all. Shisei is also the most irritating character of all the girls by a huge margin.

Same for Shisei who's the niece of Saito and constantly trying to be with him and even wanting to marry Saito. This including her maid and mom that also keeps trying their luck to get Saito and Shisei together. Also Shisei is in that regard a gag character just to add more plot to the story that is completely unneeded to be there. Shisei is also a character that is rather annoying in my opinion.

Himari, as I mentioned before, is probably the most honest and fair of the 4 girls. She states her intentions, she stated multiple times that she loves him for real and tries the hardest in a decent way to get with him. Also gaining the most ground as Saito clearly is weighing his options and clearly realizing that Himari might be the best candidate for him. Even with Akane telling her off finally in the end she doesn't back down as she clearly wants her goal and doesn't want to back down for anyone. That is showing her love for Saito and that's the reason I like her the most of these 4 girls.

Their class mates are just complete fools for interfering with matters that don't concern them. Which ends up playing heavily in Himari's favor at some point and severely against Akane who's at any point in this season a complete idiot with her behavior and choice of words towards and about Saito.

Now, to be fair, there is actually a 5th girl that seems to be into Saito, which is Momoka. Yet she's more a background character and doesn't really try too hard. So can't really say she's wrong for staying out of that drama.

Saito is a boy that can't seem to grasp the fact that he likes Akane, keeps letting others dictate what to do and how to act, including from Akane. He's the typical "steel plate in front of his head' character as also Himari and the other girls also walk all over him and only Maho seems to be hearing a direct 'no' even if that isn't in a strong definitive way. Saito seems on the surface a pretty decent guy, the typical anime guy that can't stand up for himself as well. But even if he claims to be super smart, he's actually quite dumb if it comes to women and their stupid games.

This anime is rather something that could be great, but ended up to be a total mess.
This all because of the story turning into a harem and more and more stupidity coming in with each episode.
I was cheering this anime on for the first few episodes only to loose hope soon after.

I have to state from the start that this anime reminds me a lot of Dragon Ball GT in a sense. Now, I don't like GT much at all, but this redone version makes it actually really well worth it! I really enjoyed watching and the surprises made me feel kinda happy that I ended up with tears in my eyes at several points (all positive!)

Now for the SPOILERS!

Now we as fans always loved to see a SSJ3 Vegeta, we didn't just get that but also the kid versions for both Vegeta as Goku. Which surprised me insanely in a positive way! Really happy to ... see this. And then they went further making Goku into SSJ4 which now makes my words regarding GT not being cannon (or at least not being main time line) true. We truly ed the GT starting point and clearly can not consider GT to be main timeline at least. Which is making me happy for sure (and not that Dragon Ball Super didn't do this already as god power isn't in GT but stronger. It would make no sense to have SSJ4 when you have god power)

There are numerous referrences to the original series, DBZ and DBGT. However something not clear to me is why we got SSJ3 Vegeta and SSJ4 Goku. This is not a complaint but more a thought of where to place Daima in the Dragon Ball world. There are too many reasons to really have the fans guessing when this story should be placed in timeline wise. Now, didn't GT make Goku adult again when he went SSJ4? At least for the time duration of SSJ4 that is. That would be a major issue to explain here why in Daima this isn't the case. I do love seeing a kid version of SSJ4 Goku though!

Now hear me out on this, logically speaking we can't place it after the Buu Saga or before or during Super. Simple reason being that SSJ4 doesn't appear until way later in GT and that is not the main timeline. Also god powers would be used pretty much right in the the start of Super, so the during super argument is invalid on that point. Then the only option would be that Daima is either a alternate timeline (third timeline if GT is the second timeline). Reason being you don't need SSJ4 if you have god powers as god powers are way stronger (Heroes being a short episode installment to sell merch which clearly is no more then fan service and shouldn't be seen as more then that)

So I seriously think the only timeline placement is in a different universe/timeline, specially as the reference being regarding the Buu Saga and defeat of Buu. With neither DB Super or DBGT happening in that universe/timeline.

The story itself is pretty good, if you watch all episodes one after another, you pretty much get a full movie instead of random episodes. so this is well done and I do hope to see more of this!

Now while we did get SSJ3 Vegeta and SSJ4 Goku, the thing I don't understand is why no fusion dance between the 2. It would have made things a lot more interesting and a much more powerful warrior Gogeta would have entered the final battle.


Characters:

Just basing this on the art style and how they behave, not on the story itself.
Now for the default crew, both Goku as Vegeta in kid form were actually pretty good. Goku back to what he used to be in the Dragon Ball times, but Vegeta oddly enough in a more late DBZ style. Can't say i'm displeased though.

Seeing Muten-Roushi that young is kinda odd yet funny, I wish they did a little more with him. Krillin being the old Dragon Ball version of himself with a touch of modern look was kinda interesting to see. I however didn't understand 18 turning young as well as she technically didn't fight Buu. Anyways, her kid version looks kinda interesting although we didn't really see much of it. Mr. Satan however looks interesting but predictable.

Regarding the new characters, they are well thought out although Glorio is rather similar to Shin and even Degesu is almost a clone of Shin. Which made it rather interesting in the start where you try to understand what really is going on. Dr. Arinsu is however more similar to Whis for some reason in design. Panzy being a clear Bulma clone but then for that world, yet a lot more likable.

Demon Realm Porunga looking very similar to Planet Namek's version (during the Namek saga) but is actually very nicely done. And finally we know what Mr.Popo is hiding under his turban! And we now know per definition that Namekkians are indeed demons, but now we can add Mr. Popo, Chin, Kibito as well under that idea. Which makes it more interesting as we got a piece of history we didn't have yet regarding their races or history. So seeing this depicted in younger versions is good!


Graphics and sound:

Sound and music over all was pretty default and could have been better.
However in graphics you can clearly see a huge improvement and a more modern style. I really enjoyed watching it just for that alone as ultimate eye candy! Reeally can't fault the studio on that, they need to be praised for this one!
I did however notice some odd freezes here and there in the animations, but this could have been part of the streaming service instead. Really not worth mentioning with the insane achievement reached with Daima!

It's really regrettable we have to loose this amazing man and I can't grasp the feelings of his family and well respected colleagues, my deepest condolences in this regard.
May sensei Toriyama enjoy his time in the afterlife with all the heroes of his making.
May he rest in peace.

This second season was very much well worth it!
While I do have to address a few points that clearly need to be pointed at. I can't say this season has many flaws.

I see there are many complaining about lazy writing, well I think it's more a problem of cut content and specific scenes making no sense because of that. It could have used a bit more care in that department.

You could address the fact that for some reason the group didn't attack specific points that would make more sense, like in episode 4 where they attack the shield instead of the ground below it which ... would make the castle crumble and fall. Or the fact that there was never any use in siege weapons like siege towers, siege rams or siege ladders. They just run at the front gate which is the worst thing you could do. Another major issue is the castles that are very clearly fantasy and not remotely realistic. Yet I don't really see this should weigh too heavily.

Also the fact that both Ars as Licia are 13 years old and marrying in this season will probably be picked up on. Although, let's be perfectly fair, in a medieval type setting and just before a war you can expect such things to happen. In the medieval era in our own timeline you do see people marry WAY younger as they didn't really got to age 40 or 50. So yes you marry earlier then we do today. So historically speaking this is technically not wrong. Even if modern ways of thinking would be way different. It's not like you get to see them consume their marriage.

It's a good story, don't let the people that only watched a few episodes make you believe differently, these individuals clearly have no sense of what a good story is. Specially if you include the ending of episode 12 which was really touching in a way. I'd like to highly recommend this season.
