Yeah, I agree with the fights being dragged. But I continued One Piece because the history... and some scenes are very epic ! The problem of One Piece: being developed by Toei Animation.Sorry for my bad english, I'm brazilian. :D

Excellent review on Howl. If you haven't read the novel it's based on, I highly recommend it since the story they jumble in the movie isn't half bad. Also the characters make more sense. I think the reason it's rated higher than other more consistent Jiblæ movies like Totoro and Laputa is probably just the first half alone.

I think the main reason that the romance annoyed me to such an extent is the pure ridiculousness of it all. A crush that spurred from practically nothing, an instant promise of commitment, having the equivalent of a long-distance relationship whilst still being in the same class: the romance fell short before it truly even began.

And yeah, I don't quite understand its "masterpiece" status that some people seem to give it either. Even without the BS romance, it still wouldn't be a 8-10/10.

You calling me ignorant and claiming that I dont listen to critisism in the past is for me an insult and I dont care how much you think it is not an insult (and btw I think its a much bigger insult than you calling me stupid). Basically ALL of your argument are SUBJECTIVE interpretations about the show which i disagree with. and I said so in my first comment to you... you see it this way, I see it another way. But no.. you had to bombard me with a wall of text I never asked for. I dont care about your opinion or any interpretation of some character in a show i dont even like. At least back then I had the anime fresh in my mind and was eager to defend all these bullshit excuses fanboys made. About the Nen system: The word “nen” appears In my review exactly Zero times, so claiming I was talking about the Nen system is factually wrong.. learn to read.
And claiming it was important to the show is also wrong. I didn’t care about it at all and I still knew what was going on at the end. Its basically only overly convoluted background information unimportant to the major story.
“When I said Nen 'takes away predictability in battle', I meant it allows for strategy”, that’s a contradiction since taking away predictability of an action makes it unable to plan any outcome with it during battle.
You breaking down the thematics was also pretty unnecessary and nothing I asked for. I said they were childish and pseudo intellectual and nothing more than what other shounen have.

Its called having no focus and often times its due to filler (aka unnecessary side stories) such is the case in HxH. Your subjective excuse doesn’t change that fact.
To compare HxH to other shows I have to say that most other shounen have some kind of interesting ideas which they stick to and what makes them somewhat interesting. Naruto has its ninja, One Piece has its pirates and so on. Other than that they follow a normal story structure which works for its audience of teenagers. HxH however has nothing unique and is just a mess of stolen ideas with a story structure that makes no sense at all. It tries to be unique but after all nothing makes sense.
At least you can rewatch Mars of Destruction without losing your mind and if you don’t like it you only wasted 25 minutes of your life, instead of the abomination which is HxH. What do you think is worse- a ball of shit or 1000 tons of it?

I agree with your Dbs review but one thing even tho Goku is pretty much the only one that matters and the only one that really gets attention he still suffers character wise. I also only watched DBZ and DBs a few months ago and i notice that even tho goku was never a smart character in DBs he is just obnoxious at times it's played for comedic value but it's just stupid and annoying.
