I'm probably the only one who's going to write a review for this special, which is okay. The time of this review far succeeds the publication of this special; but here me out. Toriko is Toei's worst mistake at another big hit for Jump like Dragon Ball and One Piece. I've watched both series and come to the conclusion that this special was a waste of your time and the animators time (even though it still looks like they weren't trying anyway).

The story is quite mediocre as with all Toei specials, one ends up in the other's universe, stuff happens blah blah blah. There's no ... charm found anywhere even when they manage to put sort of iconic (minus Toriko himself..) characters together. It's a mess. They end up on this island as a challenge and see who can find a devil fruit on Toriko's weird ass island that manages to have devil fruits growing in the hundreds there! Nice!

It keeps getting boring and boring. The visuals look nice and the characters feel like themselves (most of the time) and that's where the pros stop. I really suggest reading/watching both shows and seeing how Toei treats their shitty money-makers with this type of plot narration and enjoyment. However, I give it a 3 because at-least the characters are their basic MC protag self and all else, the side characters are always the same.
