I've read all the chapters so far--I probably finished it in less than two nights. I stayed awake late in my bed, convincing myself that I have to stop or I’ll regret it at work. But I couldn't stop reading it (and in fact woke up cranky--it was worth it). The artwork is amazing, gorgeous, and awe-inspiring really. It may not be everyone's style, but I love the beauty of it all, the sharp lines and color... what a breathtaking way to portray the beauty of these characters.

What I love the most about WDTFS is that it’s a mature story of love and ... struggle, with layers of emotional history and life as an adult. It’s not a teen flick. I can relate to it on so many more levels seeing as I’m almost 30 myself. There is something absolutely alluring of both Sumin and Seju… their complexities and sexual maturity are all so enticing.

I also love watching the dynamics between a young, naive lover (Sung ji) and an older, sexually confident one (Sumin is 10 years older than Sung Ji). I mean, you see this all the time in romance stories between a man and a young woman, but seeing it between two women is a refreshing change.

Right now, having read all the chapters out so far, I’m in a slightly depressive mood. I need more. If I had the money I’d personally fund this author and beg them to continue. I’m in love with the characters. And I can’t wait to see more of Seju and Sumin’s history and lifelong connection, while at the same time still enjoying the quirks and newfound spark of Sumin’s relationship with Sung Ji.

“Ugh” is what comes out of my mouth right now. It is not a sound of disgust but rather of frustration. I desperately want this manhwa to continue. And I’d love to know more about the author and illustrator.

Ah but alas, I should get back to work before I pour my heart out…

Conclusion:

„What does the Fox say?“ is a lesbian romance themed, comic style, korean manhwa. Despite the weird name it´s a show about various characters, their affairs, their pasts and how they interact with each other.

Well at first I wanna say this series, no matter if you come to like or hate it, certainly does add a lot of value to the colourful world of yuri.
Since we are cursed with stuff like anime episodes that are only between 4~10mins long. Or the fact that a lot of yuri mangas are either oneshots, or damn short. We can be happy that this manhwa has a beautiful number of 93 chapters waiting to be read. And that will take some of your time. Credit for that!

I like the fact that for once it´s not a highschool themed read of adoloscent teenagers. Instead the manhwa starts with our blondie mc during her first workday at a new company.
From there we will see many things, from hot and wet sex scenes, to endearing and heartwarming kisses, to young flowers that sometimes blossom, sometimes wither.
This read does not have your typical slice of lifer-ish elements where we see our cute mc´s doing cute things. No, it´s really all about the relationships and the interactions between our characters.
I wanna add that there is still a bit of humour here and there. You will get to know the siscon couple and they are absoloutely hilarious and adorable.

What I like too is, that on one hand we get to see a very pure and affectionate kind of love and on the other hand a very toxic relationship with its lewdness and drama. It can be heartwarming and charming at times, but on the flipside very hot and erotic.

The art is beautiful and refreshing since it´s not your typical manga art and more of a comic style, however the first few chapters irritated me. I needed to get used to it. Some of the characters look way to perfect and unrealistic. Barbie and Ken is what instantly came to my mind. But all in all it looks appealing. It´s coloured and the ionately drawed sex scenes benefit a lot from it.

A big part while reading are the pasts of certain characters. The flashbacks take up a lot of pages and can be quite confusing at times. The translation isn´t the best either. Unfortunate. As a result I found myself often „flipping“ back and forth between the pages and rereading ages.

This can be tiresome and there is also a share of drama that sometimes feels uncalled for and forced, however in the long run I would say it was a good read. It didn´t score a homerun for me, but it was definitely worth my time and a good journey with ups and downs. Like a rollercoaster. I also wanna add that it left me with some food for thought after the finish and that´s always a good thing.

# Maybe in the korean original the meaning of team leader is something similar like when the japs say senpai or sensei to someone.

The title of What Does the Fox Say? is the most intriguing part of this webtoon. Unfortunately, you’ll quickly find out that this doesn’t have anything to do with the meme at all.

If I had to describe What Does the Fox Say? Shortly, I’d call it a telenovela with hot lesbian sex added to it. For having almost 100 chapters, there certainly isn’t much to write about. The webtoon starts with the mistake of failing to make any of the protagonist interesting. And when the story is entirely about a human drama (well, if it’s not doing sex scenes, which is at least third of ... the whole content), it’s a fatal flaw to not give the reader a reason why should they care about these characters in the first place. And it’s a bit too late to try to fix this with flashbacks later.

It’s not like the story is bad per se, it just isn’t interesting. You could take away the whole story section, leave just the borderline-porn scenes and my enjoyment would be unchanged, maybe even improved.

The art isn’t bad, I would even call it a bit above average from what I can compare to other webtoons I’ve read. The sex scenes especially are very nicely depicted and choreographed, which leads me even more to the conclusion that they are the main content here.

Overall, feel free to give it a try, if it doesn’t catch your attention within 10 chapters, you may give up on it as it’s going to have pretty much the same quality until the end.
