Isekai is a genre with great potential.
That potential usually goes unfulfilled.
300 years a slime murder fulfills said potential.

A staple of isekai is an OP protagonist, but what's holding most series back is that they fail to understand the appeal of it. "Our protagonist is OP, so the villain should be OP too" is the standard school of thought. Having an OP protagonist is the primary prerequisite of an action/slice of life story, because otherwise the action takes up too much space in the story (usually the majority) and the tone is just generally off. Add an OP villain and the only thing affected by ... having an OP protagonist is that the world is forced to be at stake (which is generally accepted as bad storytelling) and that now the girls in the harem someone to swoon over.

300 years a slime murder has 6 fights up to where I've read. 2 end before they even start, 3 are over in one hit and the last isn't very long. This is perfect if you're like me and despise watching fights. This adds up to one roughly half-chapter long fight every 12 chapters. A series I recently dropped "Tensei Kyuuketsuki-san" bothered me because in the first 15 chapters it had like 10 fights.

But of course, "not being an action series" is not good enough reason to praise a series. Most series aren't action series.

- The series encourages the good practice of not overworking oneself.
- "And then 300 years ed", reading that is an interesting experience.
- In general, I find immortals interesting. It helps me put my life in perspective to contemplate the mindset of someone 300 years old.
- The slime loli's are pretty cool.
- In raw Japanese, the writing is nowhere near as obtuse as in other web novels.

The most important thing though, is that this is an isekai series that doesn't make you sit through long and boring fights. Isekai and action being intrinsically tied together is tremendously infuriating, to see them separated in a series which es basic competency checks is enough.

Maybe it's because i'v only recently started reading Novels in the past month or two. But when i compare this to every other novel i'v read so far, Then this is amazingly better.

I originally read the manga first. Finally got around to reading the Light Novel. I'd say from what little is available of the Manga i'd say that the Manga is the better version.

The pacing in this isn't great. I believe the first 20 chapters go by really fast with what's happening.

We also get impressions in the manga and the start of the LN that Lecia ( The Dragon ) ... is more of a ditz character. But in this she rarely talks and acts more shy then anything. I feel that she should either be a Ditz or a Tsundere

Things like the MC's daughters i find kind of weird. From what i gathered they are actually around 50 years old but have the appearance of a 9 year old. So scenes where the MC acts like they are still kids is kind of weird and when they act like little kids.

Also i find the idea of them only being born because of the MC killing slimes to make little sense. It would be a lot more interesting if it was the result of the MC's mana being so strong that it leaks out and the children were made.

In the manga we also have a real homey feel so far. In this with how many people are suddenly brought into the story, It starts to lose that feel

Overall it's still a good read, It's just i find the manga to be better so far.

Reading the synopsis of this light novel, everyone will instantly know it is about isekai. But unlike any isekai that I've read or watched, the best thing about the main character, Azusa, is not simply overpowered instantly at the beginning of the story. She took 300 years to become so powerful that it caused her peaceful days to be disturbed.

Story:
Each author has its own way of writing, and I absolutely love how Kisetsu Morita composed the story. It has this relaxing sensation as I turn each page, yet lead me wanting to know what happens on those each page although some of them can be ... predicted. Though there's some scenes that are a little bit exaggerating, but it didn't ruin the whole theme of the story.

The story is told in first person viewpoint, which makes you feel you are the main character or you are reading her diary. The way the story is being told feels like their interaction are normal (as in how we are interacting in our daily life.

Art:
Benio has this unique character design and coloring skills that are truly representing Azusa's world and her laid-back life.

Characters:
Azusa, the main character, took 300 years to get to her highest level before any event in the novel start. Thus this is the reason the title of the novel are stated as such. This is a big win for me as opposed to most isekai main character that are instantly given overpowered magic, strength and skills. As a 300 years old, she is characterized as a mature woman with a body of a 17 years old teenage girl. This is another big favor for me because her attitude or behavior are in with her age. She didn't act childish and annoying but tried her best to avoid problems that can affect her laid-back life.

As for the others, they are characterized in most average characteristics that I can see in other anime series. Nevertheless they help balanced Azusa and her life.

Overall:
In conclusion, I've enjoyed what the series had offered in its first volume and I am still enjoying whatever it offer in its second volume. The author wrote in a relaxing manner and pace, and the english publisher had translated it greatly (especially in the second volume in certain part of certain chapter). That relaxing pace made me comfortable reading it without feeling too much drag and forced myself to finish reading it. Since it focuses on daily life of Azusa and her small yet fun problems, don't expect it to be prioritize in too much combat scenes.

If you are looking for relaxing stories, then you should try reading this light novel.
