The second season is somehow worse than the first. It's more idiotic, the characters around him, the world, everything's even more pointless than it already was. The main character is still a block of wood who can do everything, even beat up huge monsters with his bare hands. All the magic, the monsters, the archery, everything is redundant. He can literally just do whatever.

Most of the time is spent with trivial ass drippings. Researchers in the monster taming guild, even slime researchers, can't figure out basic shit about slimes, like their diet or habitat effecting evolution. They somehow never figured that out. Metal slimes tend ... to be in mines with metal, and they eat metal. Huh, guess it's just random. It's not believable that everyone else in the world is this stupid. It's one of those shows that brings down the intelligence of everyone else in the world to make the main character seem smart or special.

It was already a stretch in the first season, but the more they explain the details of this world the worse it gets. They're still dragging shit out with him being a low rank in the adventurer's guild, being surprised by how great he is despite being a low ranked adventurer and a child. Babbling on and on about how he's too good, while he just apologizes for being so great and shows them his fucking wooden block transformation jutsu.

I thought maybe the show would get better in the second season, maybe they could do something interesting with a new business or the slimes, or maybe some other monsters. They didn't. The world gets smaller and more idiotic as it goes on, and the character doesn't grow.

The dialogue is somehow more plodding and masturbatory than the first season, and it's made even worse with the repetition. They asspull even more skills and knowledge for the main character from his backstory, even when he doesn't really need it. Rather than ever having the character grow or learn anything at all, which is desperately needed for this block of wood. It's not just boring, it's mind-numbing.

Season 1: It's a slice-of-life Iyashikei of an Isekai that's heartwarming and good in spots. Seems like it has potential for a Season 2.
Season 2: Why is this a goddamn Rune Factory-ish season of just growing business foundations?

Novelist Roy's Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko a.k.a By the Grace of the Gods, back when it first came into the scene in Fall 2020, I thought it was kinda of a decent Isekai that explored the Iyashikei side of things with slimes and both human and demi-human relations for the once-deceased Ryoma Takebayashi, now onto the new world that he could manifest his powers for good and for ... the people around him. But there is a mistake in the process: there is a possibility that we could get a Season 2 in the future, given how much potential it still has under its belt to be more interesting in the long run. And when Season 2 finally dropped this season to give us more good content...I'm not gonna lie: IT SUCKS ASS.

Isekai/fantasy worlds are good because they explore the world at large, not only just the characters and their motivations alone to make the world interesting as a footnote together with it. But this is where Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko gets it all wrong and breaks one of the most fundamental storytelling plots to retain viewership of its audience: they explore the characters instead, while forgetting about the world-building itself. To make matters worse, much of the explanation (e.g. research) of the slimes' progress in manifesting new variable types that Ryoma has yet to discover, it's just glanced out of knowledge and doesn't feel genuine. At all.

Hear me out: Ryoma Takebayashi isn't a bad guy per se, but it's just because of his growing business acumen that sets the stage for Season 2, enhancing the laundromat business that he has laid out its base foundation way back at the tail end of Season 1. To make things more interesting, having Eliaria be off on her way to her studies for 3 years, I thought that this will make for a refreshing change of pace when Ryoma's stuff was covered too much in the sequel. But once the sequel came, much like everybody else, I was flabbergasted that the progression of the LN that was adapted to the anime, was what we've seen as such in these 12 episodes (minus that 1 episode where Eliaria's school side POV was explored for a desperately needed change of pace), and it was BORING. You know the expression "the world is at your oyster", and yes, Ryoma technically embraced that, but I don't know where Season 2 got its foot off on the wrong path: Roy's LN, or Maho Film's same staff team as Season 1 who did some drastic changes to the storytelling, it's hard to say.

While Maho Film's production technically feels the same as before in Season 1, I feel that for the OST in Season 2, it's gone to mediocrity. Both Azusa Tadakoro and MindaRyn exchanged places for the OP and ED respectively, and though both songs are good to hear outside of the anime, I just felt that it didn't gel together the whimsicality that Season 1 offered and made the series interesting in the first place.

All I can say is that Season 2 in a nutshell is this: business, more business, festivals, people, less of slimes, and that's it. As a fledging reincarnated kid, Ryoma should have the will to consider for more outside of his business that's growing much bigger thanks to his world "growing at large". But this obstinance that creates for such mild content, it's honestly just a case of a bad call, but I beg to differ.

Season 2 IS a mistake, and the potential that has raised from Season 1, thrown out and squashed like a pumpkin thanks to random, or even more scathing, idiotic facts that don't add to the world-building. Not good, not recommended at all, don't even try to think you can sit through this mind-numbing mediocrity.

I really recommend this this anime. Loved Season 1, and Loved Season 2.

I watched Season 1 and I loved it so I was so excited for season 2, got quite busy in life and forgot about it, now a few months after the release, I decided I would watch it butI saw the reviews here in MAL, so I got quite .... affected by it, some people said that they loved Season 1 but was dissapointed with Season 2, and like it's so bad and everything... so I didn't watch for a ... couple of weeks until this week. I decided I wanted to watch it because yknow why not? I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT. It really is just Slice of Life, it's great, its fun, it's overall enjoyable, even for children. I don't know why people don't like Season 2 if they liked Season 1 because the main point of this anime is just RYOMA and his life with his slimes as a part time manager of his laundry shop and part-time adventurer. JUST SLICE OF LIFE. NO STRESS. It gives you a break from all the recent isekais with all their booby hot mess and harem, drama nonsense in which the plot is nice but I guess fan service is better because the MC needs atleast like 10 wives who're obsessed with him. THIS IS ISEKAI. RYOMA, OUR MC IS OVERPOWERED but he's kind, respectful, polite, helpful, overall a pleasant and good boy/character. I think his main love interest is Elia but for now, romance is not important. It maybe boring for some people but thats on them, BECAUSE THIS ANIME IS SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THAT, IT'S RYOMA'S LIFE WITH HIS SLIMES. IT'S JUST LIKE THAT.

So people. IF YOU'RE LOOKING TO DESTRESS AND TAKE TIME OFF THE RECENT HAREM ECCHI NONSENSE ISEKAIS NOWADAYS and if you're looking for an Isekai with an overpowered MC who's a kid who everyone he meets and everyone in his life literally loves and fawns over, then this Isekai is for you. It's just a boy and his slimes slowly conquering the world. PURE WHOLESOME STORY.

This second season kind of lacks something the first season had and my interest is beginning to wane. Now I wouldn't say the series is bad but I really wish there was less focus on him trying to build laundromats to the point the name should have been "Opening a Laundromat in Another World".

The story continues from the first season with the laundromat arc. How about more adventures where he tries to tame more slimes or literally anything else besides him and these laundromats. The 4th episode has helped raise my interest again but I am ready for the story to move away from the ... laundromat arc.

Ryoma is still traveling and making connections with others but they mostly just tie back in to the laundromat business he is trying to expand upon

Artstyle is fine, nothing really changed from the first season.

Edit: it seems my prayers were answered by ep 5 when Ryoma decided to go back to working jobs as an adventurer to raise his rank. Thank goodness too I don't think I could have handled the series if it focused mainly on his business

I don't really care for this anime, the first season caught my attention a tiny bit, but watching the second season felt like time was getting slower, each episode felt like an eternity, it wouldn't be so bad if the story wasn't so bland and unintersting, when the main character does something spectacular for the hundredth time it doesn't make it exciting, it's just like oh there's another power to the other list of powers this guy has.

The characters are honestly in my opinion the worst part, they are so... what's the word... 1 dimensional? just gross, I would like some flavour, I know it's ... not that kind of show, but at least add the tiniest amount of spice,

the visuals are average, at times I forgot I was watching an anime and instead was watching hentai,

I do not really recommend watching this anime as it's just tedious, feels like a job to watch it

It's a bad sequel to a nice first season.
While the first season brought with it this sense of child-like wonder about the new world, the second season is all about business. Literally. He runs a laundromat, and he goes from place to place to make this business better. Not for money, nor to introduce decent labor rights into the feudal society, but because all his business pals tell him that "THIS RANDOM BUSINESS IDEA IS GREAT, DO IT BRO, IT'S GONNA DO GREAT".
Maybe as a result, but Ryoma stays the same from end of season 1 to the end of season 2. There's nothing ... he has to think through, nothing he has to overcome, nothing important happening. He's fully kitted for looming dangers and tribulations that will never come.
It's just a shota-fied old man walking around listening to people praise him for being amazing.
Slimes have background roles now.
Animation is cheap.
Elia is gone.
Climax of this season is Ryoma's laundromat running a street food stall.
This season is boring. I'd KamiHiro better if season 2 didn't happen if it had to happen like this.

So, grab your snacks, find a comfy spot, and immerse yourself in Ryoma's journey of growth and gratitude. It's a show that reminds us to be thankful for the simple pleasures and encourages us to do our best, no matter the circumstances.

I liked the first series, it was comfy and heart-warming, the second season however has lost something.
It's pacing is bad, its writing is bad, and its heart has been ripped away, to quote The Godfather "look how they massacred my boy"

In Season 1 the Jamil family provided Ryouma with a surrogate family, they gave him love and throughout, and provided much of the 'heart' in the series.
Their absence in season 2 is very much felt, it could have got around that by letting other characters step up a bit more, but it doesn't do that as we hardly get to spend any time with ... anyone other than Ryouma as we jump from place to place far too much, which just makes it feel oddly paced.
It also didn't help that in this series they decided to briefly show the Jamil's with Eli leaving her family to go to the academy (as promised in Season 1) and while they are only all on screen for about a minute, it serves as a reminder of what we are missing from this season and how much better season 1 was.

Season 2 also throws a whole load of new characters at us, no doubt to make up for the loss of the Jamil family, but we don't get any real time with them and don't get to know them, it doesn't help that Piolo can be annoying, which I guess the less we get of him the better?
Season 2 also breaks the news that there is a whole bunch of other gods that we didn't know about, they just weren't important enough for us to know about before, and aren't just some random after thought that was added by the author after the series was already started...
And unrelated, and what is also not just something that was randomly tacked on late into the plot because they wanted to give Ryouma something to do... We find out that Ryouma was set a quest by the gods to find some heirlooms in some forest, and to train for it he has to fight and defeat a series of monsters...
Totally not randomly added on in the middle of the story and there from the start, even though all they asked of him at the start was to visit a church and say hi to them if he were to through a town, and they were perfectly happy to let him spend his time living on his own in a different forest and would have been fine if he decided to live there for his entire life...
Sorry not sorry, but that is just bad writing, and I will clown on it for its bad writing.

There are some moments that are okay, which remind you what was good about this series, but those moments aren't enough to outweigh the poor pacing, the issues with the writing, and its lack of 'heart'
If you likes Season 1, I advise you to watch with caution and lower your expectations, because I can not recommend this season, even to fans of the first season.
This was just disappointing.

"You don't get it, it is a healing isekai, it is not like other isekai" people told me when I didn't like the first season. So I checked the second one and to be honest - everything is now even worse and makes even less sense.

First I will mention that production quality, that already wasnt stellar, now is just awful. While blured drawing as a background can be considered a style choice, terrible CGI in places noone ever asked for are neither a style nor a choice. Even if not CGI, there was a "combat scene" that was a set of 3 attacks that were ... repeated in a loop, each of said attack was animated only once and pasted for every single loop without any change. Imagine watching the same few minutes repeating for 3 times - it almost feels like your player bugged and is not working properly. Overall already cheap looking anime now looks even cheaper.

And now my main problem: the writing. If in S1 we had some kind of "boy finding friends and his place in a new world" story, now we have "adventures of Jack of All Trades (and master of them all) in the land of really silly people" to call it lightly. In S2 most of the characters we had around the MC in S1 take a back seat while we get to know a vast array of very incompetent new characters. So incompetent that any more incompetence - and they would forget how to breathe if MC wasn't there to tell them. Take, for example, slime researchers who did research for ages as their job. Guess what, they know nothing about slimes. Or how about robbers who get hired to mess with people? They are weak and stupid, wow who could have guessed. Literally every small thing and encounter that MC has in this anime is something that he can do so good that everyone is constantly praising our MC for how cool he is. And the new cast that was introduced here serves no purpose but to, once again, give our MC a new way to show off and to praise him afterwards. And to make it even worse - despite all the praise MC does nothing worthy. He has no growth. He does not develop as a character. He just "suddenly" finds that he already knows everything needed to solve any situation while everyone is applauding to our little genius. I know that isekais are notorious for being nothing but self-inserts, but this is so over the top with self-praise that it just makes you to say "dude, calm down".

Overall this season was even more of an empty shell than the first one was. Nothing original, nothing interesting, nothing to care about or . And the shell is not even looking good, with too many corners cut and too little effort put into writing. Just watch anything else and you will have better time.

Compared to the first season it has a lot less action, so much so that you would expect at least the few fight parts to have a good animation but this is not the case, the slimes also have no relevance like the last season, it is much more focused on the Ryouma in his stores, I also thought that exchange of letters between Ryoma and Eliaria was unnecessary and they added so much character that I don't even want to know who is who.

So if you want to watch something slower, that is more relaxing, you might like it but honestly, there are ... better options than this season.

tl;dr Everything felt comparatively lackluster, and I think I would have been better off being satisfied with the first season.

I was excited for this to come out. I really enjoyed season 1, even re-watched it a few times, and as a whole how it took a more laid back approach to the isekai genre as a whole. However, something was lost in this season, in both the animation and the plot.

The animation budget looked stretched from start to finish, with easy to spot poorly made 3D models making rather prominent appearances. I'm no expert on anime to any extent, but the line art felt ... more... corporate? I'm not exactly sure how to put it into words, but it feels like there was less soul put into it. The fighting animations were mediocre in the first season, which is to be expected from a show based heavily on talking, but it took a noticeable further dip this season. It's more like a choppy colored storyboard than a series of shots during action sequences at this point.

Speaking of soul, the plot was lacking in most if not all aspects. Ryoma becomes a walking god tier contraption generator and forgets a lot of what made him an interesting character. The only mainstay part of Ryoma's character from his previous life is overworking, but employee welfare feels discarded and only brought back up for bonus points. While I'm aware this is supposed to be something of a wish-fulfillment show, both the wishes and the fulfillments become trivial things that take trivial time to complete. Buildups rarely last longer than a few minutes and the constant workflow of: Ryoma shows of some new ridiculous invention -> people gasp and point -> Serge goes "we should sell this thing!!!" -> Ryoma gets money off-screen.

Losing the Reinbach family from the get-go dropped the show's quality plot-wise. Every new character was fundamentally nice and generic, and given a specific social situation I'd bet they'd all act and talk approximately the same way.

The gods show up a few times to congratulate Ryoma on ??? and leave. And Ryoma has no ending song like s1 did even though they built up to it for the last several episodes. However, the ed slaps.

While I still finished it, so I can't say it's entirely awful, there was much more bad than good.

A decent anime overall (6 / 10) .

The story is quite average, as far as isekai plots and tropes go. What makes the show interesting is the way that MC uses his newfound power, and the overall plot direction. If these were the only considerations, then the score should have been (8 / 10).

Unfortunately, the way that MC speaks, and how dialog is handled really ruins the experience for me. The MC talks like the most formal robot to ever exist out there. Every single conversation becomes predictable from the moment it starts. MC treats every single person he interacts with like they executive ... managers of a top 500 company. All the "please" and "thank you" variations have been included in the show. Instead of actually reading the anime's dialogue, I'd rather attend one of those whole day meetings that companies host about random and entirely work unrelated environmental events twice a year. The dialogue flow in the anime is insanely stale and monotonous.

If you can turn your brain off entirely while watching this however, then it'll be a true joy to experience.

I wanted to like this, I do, but this was just a disappointment in what made the first season great.

It has the same charm that I like from the first season and the new characters are pretty charming. But the main problem of this show is the pacing and the lack of focus it had. There are just so many things going on this season that they just speedran through every episode but somehow made it slow in a lot of ways.

The first season had good pacing, showing Ryouma learning and adapting to the world around him with the people he grew to love and ... enjoying life at his own pace. The best episodes are when he was slowly accustomed to the town he visited, slowly making a laundry business, and the sad episode of realizing of losing the people he cared about, reminiscing about the love that he had, and thanks to the family that he has now. This is what made the first season so charming, heartwarming, and relaxing that immediately get invested in his character.

It had an interesting direction at first, with Ryouma expanding his business and meeting new people along the way. What made it kinda awful was the execution. As I said, there were so many things going on this season that it's kinda jarring that so many events piled up in a single season. It felt an episode had a single story arc. It feels like Ryouma is doing the same thing as in his past life, overworking without taking breaks, at least from the viewer's perspective. Sure, you could argue that he rested in between episodes, but I would like to see him taking a break or a small vacation for at least an episode. Granted, the last episode was charming showing that he cares about the community he was in and what having people closest to him means to him well.

Despite its problems, this is a fine adaptation, you'll find it either boring or charming. In the latter, I find it in the middle of the road of slightly below average. Would be cautiously optimistic about a third season.

This second season is actually so boring compared the previous one. I know it's a slice of life isekai, but the first had something comforting about it. How he ended up alone for a few years and being discovered by the Jamil family and Eliaria, and having them taking Ryoma under their wings was honestly cozy and wholesome, that is something you don't see everyday.

It also had quite a lot of action scenes, that while not amazing, were still enough to break the slow and steady pace of first season from time to time. Not to mention, the new slimes he either created or discovered ... alongside with Eliaria throughout the journey. The second season has almost none of what I mentioned, the majority of the episodes in this were almost always related to business, which while it had a part of the first season, was never the whole point of it.

Ryoma almost never went to the Adventurer's Guild, despite having enough employees to run his business, there were like only a few episodes where any notable action happened. Nothing interesting happened relating to his slimes and his taming abilities, which I thought was mostly the point of this anime in the first place, to see how he gets better as a slime tamer, the laundromat only came about when the Jamil family brought up the idea to him.

Overall, this season generally felt lackluster and such a snore-fest. It really did feel like the Jamil family and Eliaria helped elevate my viewing experience of the first season, and I hope they'll be back in season 3, if there ever is one in the works.

Second verse same as the first... boring.Animation continues to be pretty bog standard, fine, but never impressive. Character depth also continues to be relatively shallow, but some attempts are made. Story continues to be pretty non-existent. Pacing somehow gets even slower. There is less meaningful plot development than season 1 and that's a pretty low bar to meet. Voice acting continues to be kind of lifeless and unconvincing. To add insult a lot of the characters are rather annoying. Op is better than season 1 and the ed is at least as good, but they really don't fit the tone of the show very well. ... Soundtrack overall is still pretty decent, and meets the standards set by season 1. Overall, it's just so boring. I have zero desire to see a season 3, I just don't really care about any of the characters or the events that take place. Again it feels like a show meant for toddlers. Boring, but not particularly offensive in anyway. It's basically the same as season 1 just a little slower. 4.45/10

Kamitachi Season 2 follows Ryouma's journey in discovering new slimes, managing his laundry business and meeting new adventurers in his journey of exploration.

Story & Character: 5/10
Kamitachi Season 2 feels really dragged out from the beginning, at first the slow pacing is palatable and can be accustomed to its laid back atmosphere but after the first major milestone has finally been set up it's already 4 episodes in. This is a common occurrence where Ryouma will talk up a major milestone and take several episodes to set up which makes it repetitive and bland. What stood out in this series as a great addition were ... the unique modern gadgets or recipes, Slime researchers, and new slime tasks/testing undertaken by Ryouma. Ryouma takes many detours along his journey which also can be attributed to the slower narrative pacing. Characters in this series are very unique with beastfolk that have different quirky personalities; At this stage it would be interesing to see some sort of friction in of problems that Ryouma can solve to keep the story and characters engaging.

Art & Sound: 4/10 & 6/10
The art is still the same across the board compared to season 1 but this season feels more choppy in its animation. The animation if any also lack fluidity between fast paced action especially seen in Ryouma's fights against guild mission monsters. Character designs are semi-detailed but are kept minimal in of dressing complexity and color schemes.

Sound design has tanked since the previous season in my opinion; Season 2 of kamitachi uses sound effects sparingly so some scenes can feel empty thematically. The music choice is very subtle and they purposefully use instrumental background music to fill the scenes because it suits the world and story themes better. Voice acting is typical of your modern anime so no complaints in voice department.

Overall & Enjoyment: 5/10
It was fairly enjoyable but many moments felt empty and slow paced; I wished to see more scientific fantasy with the slimes. Inventions and recipes from the modern world were a good sight to see in this season and I hope they focus more on these specific elements rather than the trivial community events that season 2 currently follows.

Grace of the gods, season 1 &2, is a sweet take it easy anime. yes, the MC is a bit OP'd. but it's not in an obnoxious way. and it's shown, in various ways through out the anime, that those who were transferred ended up being rather extraordinary in that new world. as they have knowledge and ideas that those from that world originally do not.

this isn't an anime to watch if you want a lot of action. or if you are hoping for some sort of epic or cataclysmic event. instead, if you want a nice, easy aced, simple to watch, sweet anime, ... then this is for you. it's a wonderful anime to watch and relax with.

Ryouma is a sweet character. he knows he's OP'd and tries to be as normal s possible. since he was so burnt out in his original world he hid away. and now he's finally learning to live again. and to love life. he's found thins he loves to do, his slime research, and has made several friends. in season 2 we get to see him grow even more form season 1. he's not trying to save the world. he's not trying to make a name for himself as some sort of hero.

i don't generally leave reviews, but when I see a good anime getting a bad wrap I have to step in.

Listen for what this series is this is still acceptable in the 2nd season. I treat this series as a "sweet nothing". A nice palate cleanser. An enjoyable watch where you're just enjoying the world being pleasant for awhile. The 1st season did this very well. This 2nd season was okay but seemed to be lacking some of whatever made the first season just "pleasant to watch".

I can't pin down exactly what was missing, but whatever it was there was less of "something" than the first season had.

It was still an enjoyable palate cleanser and nice ... "sweet" show to watch, just less effective than the first season was. So I have slightly mixed feelings recommending it. Not because it's bad in itself, just because it doesn't quite live up to the accomplishments of the first season.

I generally like this series quite a bit, but the first season was definitely better than the second. Both have a sort of feel good type of vibe. However, the pacing/progress in the second season is really too slow. I personally do like the business component, but it needs more progress/development. Also, Ryoma is slightly too insecure for someone that has insane skills and success. I do hope there will be a season 3, with further exploration of slimes, adventure and business at a higher pace. I dont mind Elia eps as long as it doesnt detract from the pace of the main story.

The Anime is definitely interesting, but it is of a genre that I presonally don't really enjoy much.
I even find it kinda creepy how everyone is always so happy.
They quite literally have unchanging expressions and I don't know if that's like them saving on Animation budget or if that's how everyone's faces are meant to look by default.

Nobody is ever unhappy here, rarely are there any conflicts, no risks or realism, therefore this genre of Anime is evidently for those who dislike when the protagonist experiences any challenges or danger.

It's a very calm and chill Anime overall.

Because of this, I feel like ... this makes the Anime PERFECT for kids.
