Synopsis

On his first day of junior high, Eren Yeager comes face-to-face with a titan—and has his lunch stolen! From that day on, he holds a grudge against titans for taking his favorite food from him, a cheeseburger, vowing to eliminate their kind once and for all. Along with his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackerman and their friend Armin Arlert, the trio traverse the halls of Titan Junior High, encountering familiar faces and participating in various extracurricular activities as part of the Wall Cleanup Club.

A parody of the immensely popular parent series, Shingeki! Kyojin Chuugakkou places beloved characters as junior high school students, fighting to protect their lunches from gluttonous titans.

After watching the main Attack on Titan, my brain was messed up and my heart felt heavy. I needed something to refresh my mood and Junior High was the perfect medicine.

This anime is absolutely hilarious! Seeing Eren, Mikasa, Levi, and the rest of the cast in a parody version of their intense world was so much fun. It turned all the serious characters into comedy gold without losing their essence.

The art is cute, the humor is constant, and the references to the original series are spot-on. Every episode made me laugh, and it was such a relief after the dark and emotional ride of AOT.

Attack on Titan: Junior high is a pretty okay parody of Attack on Titan. There's 12 episodes of 14 minutes if you exclude the opening/ending. Since it's a parody and it's based on the original anime you need to watch the first season of attack on titan before watching this. This parody also references the first episode of the attack on titan OVA quite a lot so it's probably worth watching that too.
There's at least one reference to an event in the second season but this reference isn't important and you don't have to watch the second season before watching this.

The story is ...

Why does this exist? Don't get me wrong, transposing the characters of a serious action-horror series into a high school for a chibi comedy series might have worked if it was well written... but it wasn't. All we got were scenes and lines from the main series thrown into a high school context without much context. That's not funny, it's not even a joke. And it gets worse when the same "jokes" are repeated over and over, like the scene of Hange nearly getting her head chopped off. Did you laugh seeing it once? Well, you won't after the fifth freaking time!
Throwaway lines from the ...
