So much drama. So many emotions. Mayu's story is so sad. The professor apparently had some plans of his own concerning Lucy/Nyu. Can't say I feel sorry for him. But I am sorry for Nyu being taken away from Kohta and Yuko. I really liked watching them taking care of her. |

Bible Black is the closest thing I can even think of that is similar to an anime yet even then there is not much of a story. Hentai is not a form of anime, it is a form of porn. Saying Elfen Lied is even %0.00001 similar to a hentai is a disgrace to Elfen Lied fans and ecchi lovers in general! There is a difference between nudity and pornography which is completely different markets where one is considered high-class art that signifies innocence and is void of perversion while the other is a tasteless form of lewd entertainment. |

That scene with Mayu's backstory always makes me tear up, the piano music really adds to the emotion as well. It makes me so incredibly sad whenever I see that scene. Poor Mayu. |

The story just fell apart in the second half. The first half had the backstory of the biology professor/homeless girl's dad. But the second half just wasn't that much enjoyable. |

I know the protagonists don't know about Mayu's past but did the scriptwriter think it would be funny to make a joke about Kouta taking advantage of the poor girl?... Oh dear, this show... As a whole, it was such an awful episode full of nonsensical/dumb decisions made by the characters (right, let's take the girl who can barely understand things nor talk to fucking school... like if there weren't other alternatives to introduced the creepy teacher's character). Now I the reason of why I almost drop this anime a few years ago... |

I think Mayu is going to drown herself in that ocean. Lol, a cake with a bowl of rice..... surely that will satisfy your hunger. And....what? They easily brought Nyu to college, as if there's no entrance exam required, Nyu doesn't even introduce herself in that college (maybe they skipped it, but I wonder). Yeah..Lucy doesn't need that professor because she already had what she need. |

Mayu’s backstory is sad and disgusting. But there’s just something lacking in of the delivery of that story. Anyway, I'd want to beat the crap out of both Mayu's mom and her stepdad. And I can’t help but laugh when that Professor takes of his wig lol. Thankfully his head got blown off hahaha. |

Mayu's backstory is very shocking... She didn't have anyone she could trust, not even her own mother. Kouta was wrong a lot, how could he deliver Nyu to a person without even knowing if she is really her family?! |

Seeing Mayu's backstory was as refreshing as it was repulsive. That, coupled with Lucy exploding the professor's head mid-speech shows how well this anime goes against the usual "rules". Incredibly heartbreaking episode, but at least Mayu got Wanta back! |

Lol Sorry, I had to. I know it's implied that she was raped, but they could have showed a bit more lmao Like, showing him unzip his pants or reach his hand toward her. Or, start to remove his clothes like the professor freak guy at the end of the episode. So you're saying you wanted to see the rape of a child more explicitly?? A scene where a child is forced to undress and then get on her knees, completely naked, was not enough for you? |

I honestly hated this episode. I get really tired of watching female characters have sexual trauma be part of their backstory. She could have left home for any number of reasons: 1) Her parents wanted to keep having fun so they were always going out and didn’t leave any food/provisions for her so she thought she was better off on her own. No one would be looking for her because they wouldn’t care. 2) Her parents owed money to very dangerous people so she fled her home in fear. Her parents would want to keep her safe so they wouldn’t try to look for her. 3) She lost both of her parents and when her step parent said they were getting remarried she decided that she didn’t want to be in a home full of strangers and left since there was nothing left for her at home. The step-parents might not feel compelled to look for her so they decide to just let her go. I wish all forms of entertainment media would stop using young women/girl’s sexual innocence as collateral damage to move a narrative along. Any non-sexual reason why she had to leave her home still lead to being homeless and living on the beach. Her being on the beach at the time of the Lucy/Bandoh fight is what the story needed to bring her in as a recurring character. |

Mayu’s backstory was sad af, these kinds of things can truly happen in real life too. And the dog’s real name is James ? Lame ! Wanta is way cooler. The real owner can get lost. I will forever love the scenes when Lucy just locks in or ‘get serious’ (when she gets her memories back) |
Schopenhauer was more pessimistic. He believed happiness was a fleeting illusion, dependent on desires that, once fulfilled, only lead to new ones. In The World as Will and Representation (1818), he writes: “Life swings like a pendulum backward and forward between pain and boredom.” |

Mayu acts (and looks) more like a 10 year-old than a 14 year-old. I don't really have much to say about her disaster of a life but she acts really little and childish compared to her supposed age. |

@MISSed_Bandwagon I agree, but I believe media shows stuff like that because it happens irl. It also adds to shock factor too, I felt like crying and I’m someone that isn’t very emotional. Honestly, it made me more aware of how much this happens irl too, hence the frequency of the theme |
